GARC Repeater Support Guild

Goals of the Repeater Support Guild:

1. To enhance and augment the club's current repeater system with enhanced capabilities, greater range and improved reliability for casual and, especially, emergency communications use.

2. Provide the means to add  and maintain new repeater hardware for the GARC on the 10 meter, 6 meter, 220MHz, 920 Mhz and 1.2GHz amateur bands. To be implemented in what ever order is the most beneficial to the club with the least amount of investment.

Follow our progress to the goal.

Participation:

Membership in the GARC Repeater Supports Guild is strictly Voluntary. One need not be a member of the GARC to join the Guild, though membership in the club itself is always welcome and appreciated. Membership in the guild will be in addition to regular club dues. Any funds collected will be used exclusively to enhance the repeaters currently maintained by the club, and fund expansion into additional bands. There will no strict enforcement of class or level of participation. If a participant pledges to contribute $100 per year and then finds they can not honor this promise, no follow up action what so ever will ever be considered. This is all voluntary and for fun after all! We just want better repeaters!

All memberships are by pledge and it is not necessary to make the entire contribution in one transaction. Rather one may make several donations throughout the year, as personal finances allow. (e.g. one may initially join the Repeater Support Guild at the Knight level and contribute $5.00. Continued participation is simply the pledge to contribute the total of an additional $20.00 the year.) Each level has a Star Color. As you pledge each level you can add that star to your name badge that you wear at meetings.

Several large grocers offer a "Good Neighbor Program" which works in conjunction with their discount cards. Examples are Tom Thumb and Kroger Food Stores. Each store varies in the exact details of the program, but essentially one shops for groceries as normal and, at check-out, will either have the clerk scan an additional ID card while at the register or will have the customer service department associate your discount card with our clubs ID number. In any case the final price of your groceries will not be affected. Once a quarter, the store will share 1% of the net profit from the total of all participant transactions with the GARC.

Tom Thumb Good Neighbor program number for the GARC is 11636. Please visit the customer service booth at your Tom Thumb with your Rewards Card and tell them you have a Good Neighbor number you want to add to your Rewards Card.
